Restarting an iPad can often help you solve issues with the device and it should be your first mode of action when you face troubles with your iPad. Restarting is a simple troubleshooting step and it should not be confused with a hard reset of the device. Restarting an iPad

The basic kind of restart will not delete any of the data or setting stored in the device. The steps to restart the device are explained below.

  • Press the Home button and On/Off button of the device simultaneously. The On/Off button is the one that is provided at the top right corner of the device and the Home button is the round button that is placed at the bottom center of the front of the device.
  • Continue holding the button down until a slider appears on the top of the display. Now you may release the buttons.
  • Move the slider left to right. This will turn off the iPad and the screen will go dark.

Hard Reset of an iPad
